Homeopathy is an effective and gentle form of medicine which assists the natural tendency of the body to heal itself.

It was discovered by a German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann, more than 200 years ago.

How does it work?

It is believed that homeopathic remedies work by stimulating the body's own healing abilities and that this stimulus assists your own system to clear itself.

Homeopathic remedies

Homeopathic remedies are derived from a wide range of substances mainly plants, herbs or mineral products.

Homeopathic remedies are made in specialist homeopathic pharmacies. Only a very small amount of the initial substance it is used. The original substance undergoes a process of crushing, dilution and succussion (shaking). This process activates the healing properties of the substance.

Homeopathic remedies, properly prescibed, are safe, free of side effects and can also be given to pregnant women, babies and children.

Although homeopathy works in a different way from conventional medicines, it can be used alongside other medication.
